Green Chili Pickle – This goes well with plain rice or curd rice

Try this hot green chili pickle with rice. The main ingredients are green chili, garlic and some spices. We will take you through how to prepare this. Try it out.

Ingredients
Green chili – 30
Mustard seeds – 1½ tbsp
Fenugreek seeds – 1 tsp
Red chili – 5
Sesame oil – 5 tbsp
Curry leaves – 1 sprig
Garlic cloves – 10
Asafoetida powder – 1 tsp
Tamarind pulp – ¼ cup
Salt – to taste

Process

1. Heat a thick bottomed pan over low flame and add 5 red chilies
2. Sauté this for some time and take it out into a bowl
3. Now add 1 tsp of fenugreek seeds
4. Saute this for a few seconds and add 1 tbsp of mustard seeds
5. Saute this for some time and transfer it into the bowl
6. Now allow it cool
7. Transfer it into a blender and coarse grind it
8. Keep it aside
9. Heat 5 tbsp of sesame oil in a thick bottomed pan over medium flame
10. Add 2 tsp of mustard seeds and 1 sprig of curry leaves
11. When it splutters add 10 slit garlic cloves, 30 chopped green chilies, 1 tsp of asafoetida powder and a little salt
12. Saute this for 5 minutes and add ¼ cup of tamarind pulp
13. Stir well and cook this for 5 minutes
14. Now add the masala powder
15. Mix well and turn off the flame
16. Allow it to cool and transfer it into an air tight container
17. This goes well with plain rice or curd rice
