This is the first video introducing you to the world of Bugs. More specifically Entomophagy. We are going to experiment with “Traditional” recipes by replacing protein with bugs. Please enjoy this Homemade Chili
Ingredients you’ll Need:
Chili Powder Mix:
1/4 c Smoked Paprika
1/4 c Ancho Chili Powder
2 Tbs Garlic Powder
2 Tbs Onion Powder
2 Tbs Oregano
2 Tbs Cumin
1 Tsp Cayenne
Ingredients for Chili:
2 Med Onions Chopped
8 Jalapenos seeded and chopped
6 Cloves Garlic Minced
2 Bay Leaves
3 oz can tomato Paste
40 oz Crushed tomatoes in Puree
1 can of Beer of your Choice
2 – 15.5 oz can Navy Beans Drained & Rinsed
1 – 15.5 oz Can Kidney Beans drained & Rinsed
1lb Ground Meat or 1 c whole Cricket mixed with 1 c Mushroom of choice
1. Saute onion & jalapeno until soft (Roughly 10 min)
2. Add Garlic until Fragrant (Roughly 2 min)
3. Add tomato paste & All spies. Cook until deep rustic color and starts sticking to pan
4.Pout in all beer. Stir until all brown bits stuck to pan. Cook until beer mostly evaporated
5. Add Tomatoes, bay leaf, broth, bean, and meat and stir.
6. Simmer for 1-2 hrs.
