NOW FOR THIS FAMILY RECIPE:
Chili
1 LB GROUND CHUCK BROWN & DRAIN
1 MEDIUM ONION CHOPPED
1 BELL PEPPER CHOPPED
2 CLOVES GARLIC (PRESSED)
OLIVE OIL
2 -14-15 OZ. CANS DICED TOMATOES
16 OZ. CAN BLACK BEANS
2- 16 OZ. CANS KIDNEY BEANS
8 OZ. CAN TOMATO SAUCE
1 TSP. FREEZE-DRIED BASIL
1/2 TSP. BLACK PEPPER
1 TSP. SALT
3 TBSP. CHILI POWDER
Sauté your onions, garlic and peppers in 3 tbsp. of olive oil. Add your ground beef and cook until it is brown with no pink showing. Drain the grease off the beef. Do not rinse with water.
Add cooked beef with onions, peppers and garlic to a large stockpot or crockpot. Add the remaining ingredients. Stir up well.
Crockpot: Cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3 hours.
Stovetop: Cook on medium/low heat for 2 or more hours.
Serve with your favorite condiments. Hot sauce or diced chilis if desired.
