  1. Hey John, people get too wound up about beans or no beans….it's your recipe and you can make it however you like it….I always thought that the beans added more protein if you were a little short on ground meat….yours looks great, thank you.

  2. I do my chilli very similar, I use beef, and I add a ton of veg to make it last a couple of days. I add diced carrot, button mushrooms, red bell pepper, half of a green bell pepper, and sometimes I might chop up some baby sweetcorn too, they act as sponges and soak up all the flavour as the chilli stews. Super yummy. I crumble in a beef oxo cube as the meat cooks through. Because there's so much veg it doesn't need any carbs on the side. Just serve it as a stew with some cheese on, and I like a generous blob of sour cream too 😅❤ YUUUMMMM

  3. Also my quick tip for slicing bell peppers is to slice the top off, turn it upside-down, then slice the sections off, you can rescue any nice bits off the top you cut off, and you can maybe rescue the bottom if it looks good. This way you don't get all the bitter white pith, and the seeds stay neatly together. Less mess, easy clean up!

  4. I make my chili just about the same way John, I add beans to mine, I add white beans so my daughter can see them and fish them out lol.
Thank you for sharing with us, I really enjoy watching and listening so many thanks for that.
Sitting with baited breath for the next video lol, that’s how much I enjoy them.
Enjoy the rest of the week with your sweet family.
    ❤️Tina❤️

  5. I love chili thanks for sharing. I haven’t tried putting celery in my chili but I will next go round. 🙏🏾❤️💕🎚️

  6. I also add corn, black beans and green peppers to mine. I just made a huge pot of it to freeze on Sunday. This dish is cheap, yummy and will save you money.

  7. Mmmm, I'll definitely add the cocoa. And I love black beans. Such a versatile recipe. 😋

  8. I’m in the middle of a 3 day juice cleanse and watching this is making my mouth water 🤤🤤🤣

  9. Mmmm chili is one of my top favorite foods 🤤 thanks definitely trying this recipe!!

  10. Mirepoix never hurt anything..celery is a great invisible veg that adds flavor, body and texture and more complexity. Oh, beginners..garlic won’t fly out if you press the knife firmly first before smacking it down. I grew up in Tx and no one when I was little ever had a discussion about whether or not ..ok, you just added celery..hilarious! Yeah..I always jump in to commenting before the videos are done. Ok, beans vs no beans..who cares..it’s all good! White bean chili versions are awesome too..vinegar, lime juice, beer, you need an acid in there too.
