Everyone has been making chili lately. I got to wanting to cook some myself and so I went to look at how Miss Phyllis Stokes made hers. Well there was three recipes to choose from and this is the one she called a close copy of Wendy’s chili.
1/2 lb ground beef cooked and drained
2 tablespoons hot Mexican chili powder
1/2 teaspoon cumin’
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
2 heaping tablespoons dark brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
1/2 cup chopped celery
15.5 oz. diced tomatoes
15.5 oz pinto beans
15/5 light kidney beans
15.5 oz can of water
dash of hot saucee
I cooked over med to low heat for 45 min ( just keep and eye on it ) Now I didn’t pre cook my onion, celery or bell pepper but I believe she did. I like my vegs. this way. You can choose which way you prefer.
