  1. Man, that 3rd recipie looks great, though as a whimp, I'd likely just use some bell peppers with some Serrano thrown in for abit of spice. Using exclusively spicy peppers as the vegetable is not really my thing. Plus, I end up gassing my kitchen when cooking peppers. I'd love to have an outdoor burner to help alleviate that abit.

  2. Thanks for the inspiration, now I have a routine recipe of beef, bell peppers, and onions with rice

  3. They show Jet using his wok on an open flame multiple times throughout the series, but okay, I guess actually watching the show wasn't a part of the assignment.

  4. I love how you have an outdoor wok setup!
Anyway, I'm going to have to make something like this dish one day… but I might use jalepenos.

  5. The English dub calls the dish "bell peppers and beef", yet when there's a closeup of Jet's beefless version, there are clearly bamboo shoots mixed with the bell peppers. I guess the localization team didn't know what they were looking at.

  6. Man binging with babish went downhill. Like a Lot.
Also giving the Asian dude a tiny mushroom was just plain mean.

  7. what is the 5th ingredient for the first dish sauce? He mentions oyster sauce, rice wine, soy sauce and corn starch but there is another ingredient he doesn't acknowledge but clearly adds to the sauce. What is it?

  8. 3:16 is that actually flank? looks like round or something to me. you cut it vertically. because those fibers aren't running like a flank

  9. Water does nothing for spice heat except to actually just spread it around (MatPat over at food theory showcased this very well). They also show the best way to deal with spice heat.

  10. Meh. I tried your recipe. My mom makes it better. She does it with grounded beef and tri-color bell peppers and onions, minced garlic, garlic salt with season salt. You can eat it by itself or corn tortillas like a taco. Or topped on rice and make a rice bowl.
