  2. Moms made a pot once with cinnamon. It wasn't to my taste. But I have cousins down south who said their school served chili with cinnamon rolls, so it is a thing. Just not my thing, and that's alright

  4. Yesss… I do mine with it all except the chicken stock & oregano. I'm pescatarian, so I sub the meat with Quorn crumbles. This has the best texture for my chili, lasagna, etc. My secret has always been the cinnamon and diced apple(usually Envy, it's sweet & crisp). I serve in a sourdough bread bowl, then shred sharp cheddar, corn chips, sour cream, then chives. In that order, for the presentation😋

  6. Looks delicious…..when I make my chili…in addition to onions I add celery & green peppers…..and I use beef broth not chicken broth….oh and as for my beans I like to use dark & like kidney beans as well as black beans 🤷🏽‍♀️

  8. Yes we need some beans in the chili. I throw in some bell peppers too, and maybe a few chilis if we want some heat

  9. Mmmmm! I like Black beans and Chick Peas in chili! Not vegetarian in the least (though not opposed to a decent meal!) but I like to have a couple different beans in mine!

  10. It ain’t chili if there’s no beans in my opinion . I’m not a fan of corn chips like that but overall this looks bomb . My dad makes it a little different but Imma have to try this recipe out . Thank you !

  11. Not to sure bout the cinnamon, but I’ll give it a try one of these days. Also, I like to use beer as part of my liquid for chili. In fact I haven’t made chili in years without it. Serve with Fritos or saltine crackers. I love cornbread and beans, just not with my chili.

  12. I add a little sugar to cut the acid of the tomatoes and add a little chocolate for color and texture.

  13. I mixed your recipe for chilli in the crockpot from a few years ago., with the recipe I created !! Just a few personal changes but my chilli is AMAZING. BECAUSE IF YOU!! So thank you so much!!

  14. For it to be a true "bowl of red" chili it should be just meat, stock, chilies, and other seasonings, but if your recipe has beans or tomatoes in it, then as long as it tastes good, it's all good.

    Just don't make it sweet, like some people up in Ohio make what they call "chili".

  15. Why do you use chicken stock instead of beef stick if you used beef? I have heard others say beef has an off putting taste.

  16. The only thing i disagree with is using Dark Red Kidney Beans. don't like that sweet flavor they have. I use lite red.

  17. Nope, don't preheat the crackpot. No beans of any kind, they trigger my husband's asthma. No yeast, either.

  18. I cook it the same way I just add diced stew meat with the ground beef and I add black beans and red beans
