This fried chicken is korean inspired recipe. Takes some time to prepare but tastes yummy. Doesn’t need rice or noodles to go with it. Tastes delicious on its own. Ingredients:
Boneless chicken – ½ kg
Ginger – 1 inch
Soy sauce – 2 tsp + 2 tbsp
Egg – 1
Rice flour – 1 cup
Water – 4 tbsp
Sugar – 2 tbsp
Lemon juice – 2 tbsp
All purpose flour – 1 tbsp
Red chilies – 6
Oil – ½ cup
Garlic – 8 cloves
Onion – 1
Spring onion – 1
Green chilies – 6
Method:
Wash the chicken and cut into small bite sized pieces. Marinate the chicken with 2 tsp of soy sauce, chopped ginger, salt, freshly ground black pepper. Keep it aside until you prepare other things.
Grind the red chilies into powder. Heat ½ cup of oil in a pan and add the garlic which is cut into halves. Once the oil is nice and brown take it out. Switch off the flame and add the red chili flakes and stir for a minute. Strain the oil and keep it aside.
Take a bowl. Mix 2 tbsp of soy sauce, 2 tbsp of water, sugar, lemon juice, all purpose flour everything together.
Add the egg, and rice flour to the chicken and mix them together.
Heat oil enough to deep fry and fry the chicken pieces in batches, until they are well done.
Heat a pan, add the strained chili oil, add the chopped onion, spring onion, green chilies and fry for a minute. Add the sauce we made, and add the fried chicken pieces and toss the chicken in the sauce. If you like you can add the garlic in with the chicken.
