Black Pepper Fish Curry
Ingredients for Fish Marination:
Black pepper (crushed) 1 tsp
Salt 1/2 tsp / to taste
Lemon juice 2 tbsp
Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
Carom seeds 1/2 tsp
Fish (Rohu) 1 kg
Oil 1/2 cup
Ingredients for Onion puree:
Oil 1/4 cup
Onion (sliced) 1 cup
Ginger pods 2
Garlic cloves 4
Green chilies 6-8
Cumin seeds 1 tbsp
Coriander seeds 1 tbsp
Yogurt 1 1/2 cup
Ingredients for Black Pepper Fish Curry:
Oil 1/2 cup
Fish (Rohu) 1 kg
Onion puree
Water 1/2 cup / as required
Salt 1/2 tsp / to taste
Black Pepper powder 1 tsp
Black peppercorns (Crushed) for sprinkle
Directions for fish marination:
1- In a bowl add fish, black pepper, salt, lemon juice, ginger garlic paste, carom seeds and mix it well. Marinate it for 30 mins.
2- In a pan heat oil and add marinated fish. Fry each side for 1-2 minutes. Set aside.
Directions for Onion Puree:
1. In a pan heat oil and add onion, ginger, garlic, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, green chilies and cook for 2 minutes.
2. Transfer it into a glass jar, add yogurt and blend it well into smooth puree. Your Onion Puree is ready. Set aside.
Directions for fish in black pepper:
1- In a pot heat oil and add onion puree and cook for 1-2 mins.
2- Add water, salt, black pepper and cook until oil separates.
3- Add prepared fish and cook for 4-5 mins or until fully done.
4- Lastly sprinkle crushed black pepper and serve. Your Black Pepper Fish Curry is ready.
