Gochujang or Korean red chilli paste is a savory, sweet and spicy fermented condiment popular in Korean cooking. It is made from gochu-garu, glutinous rice, meju powder, yeotgireum and salt.
Ingredients
2 tbsp rice flour
1/2 cup water
2 tbsp red chili powder (paprika)
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 tsp sugar
Salt to taste
If you have barely malt powder add a little
Method
Add water and rice flour in a pan to stir low heat.
When the rice flour mixture become thick, turn off the flame.
Then add chili powder, soy sauce, sugar and salt. Mix well.
Allow to cool and then store in a glass bowl and refrigerate.
