This is the best darn burnt end chili recipe ever. If you don’t have any burnt ends then no sweat, use some cubed brisket, pulled pork or some other kind of meat. The chili base is what really makes this stuff good. Coffee in a chili recipe? Oh yeah it’ll make it pop. That and the chilis in adobo sauce.
Ingredients:
1 lb burnt ends
1 lb brisket meat- cubed
2x 32oz cans of chili beans
4 tomatoes
4 garlic cloves
1 sweet onion
1-2 jalapeños (seeds and veins removed)
1 poblano pepper (seeds and veins removed)
1 Anaheim pepper (seeds and veins removed)
1 can of chipotle peppers in adobo sauce (use 3-4 or more peppers depending on how spicy you want it)
3 cups cold coffee
2 TBSP corn meal
1-2 TBSP ground cumin
1-2 TBSP ground or leaf oregano
salt an pepper to taste
1-2 cups ketchup
1-2 cups BBQ sauce
Put beans and meat into crockpot. Blend tomatoes, garlic, onion, peppers and coffee together. Mix all ingredients and then let it cook. The stuff gets even better if you cook it, throw it in the fridge and then re-heat it before serving.
