How I make the best CROCKPOT CHILI | Homemade SLOW COOKER Chili Recipe



Today I am making one of my favorite slow cooker chili recipes. This chili has an amazing depth of flavor and tastes better the next day. This is gonna be good!

INGREDIENTS
2 1/2 lbs beef chuck roast
2 lbs ground beef 85/15 meat-to-fat ratio
1 small to medium onion
4 guajillo peppers plus 1 cup soaking liquid
2 to 4 cloves garlic
2 to 2 1/2 cups beef stock or broth
12 fl oz bottle of dark lager beer
1/4 cup masa harina
1/4 cup light chili powder
2 Tbsp chopped chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
2 Tbsp dark brown sugar
1 1/2 Tbsp beef bouillon powder
1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 Tbsp Maggi seasoning sauce
2 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp cracked black pepper
salt to taste
6 to 8-quart Slow Cooker
Cook on High for 4 to 5 hours or low for 7 to 8 hours

  1. Definitely going to try this! 😋 If I may make a request? I have no problem with spice but my family is not big on it. Is there a way that you can incorporate into your video how spicy a dish is? Maybe a spice range of mild to really spicy. If so, greatly appreciated 😊

  2. New here 😊 this recipe looks delicious 😋 now that the weather is turning cold I will be making chili again. I use the Instant pot to brown the meat and then I can add all of the other ingredients and cook under pressure or like a crock pot all day. I think beer adds a wonderful flavor. I've never thought of using a chuck roast along with chop meat but definitely will try this. Thanks so much for an awesome recipe ❤

  5. I brown all proteins before adding to a crock pot. Its a preference, even if i have to dirty another pan. Great recipe !

    MUST have real butter, too.
    Chili with butter is
    a real comfort food.

  7. You're amazing! Every thing looks fabulous! Success! I put in chili beans and have never tried it with roast. Mmmm. Cheddar cheese on the top? Crackers or cornbread work for me.

  8. The only great chili recipe is by the pioneer woman. What I have learned since I have started cooking as a graduate from culinary college is. If you do t know the person personally or they aren’t famous don’t use the recipe.

  9. I just have one question do you drain the grease from the ground beef or do you put that in the Chile?

  10. I do like making chili like this, I also sometimes use chopped pork butt or some sausage, I make a really good poblano sausage that goes very good in sausage.

  12. What measurements would it be for normal cumin and black pepper? I do not have the whole cumin seeds or peppercorns

  13. Anjelica, I now use your sauce recipe for whenever I want a sauce for Mexican food, enchiladas, or anything that I think it will fit. So good. I still follow many of your meal ideas.

  14. is it possible to make chili in a slow cooker only? I don't have a stove so can't brown any meat. I spend hours and hours scouring cooking channels that can give recipes WITHOUT using a skillet, oven, or grill. Thank you
