  1. Why is Ed a polarising character? Simply for having this world record without independent tests?

  2. Is Ed really made this pepper is because he worked so hard for the last facade right ? So if the seeds aren't available now is not bad ,when he's is ready probably he will start sale.

  3. Oh man the dunk on the end is epic. Hopefully people get the genius in what you did. I bow you good sir.

  4. So Ed said he is not going to be releasing seeds for these at all? where did you hear this I'm just wondering honest question 🙂

  5. Winthrop University conducted the test and why should he immediately give away what he worked so hard to create? If he decides to never release the seeds or pods then sure I disagree with that

  6. "Currie said he has learned from the business mistakes he made with his first Guinness record winner. He didn’t legally protect the Carolina Reaper name and let others have its seeds, grow the peppers and use them to create hot sauces and salsas."

  7. I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure he has all his peppers scientifically tested at a university, your all saying that's not good enough

  8. Love how you ended this mentioning BMM! ❤️😂😂. I mean congrats Ed for paying a company to give you an award… I mean.. Yeah ya'll know…
    Greatest vid ever Shaun!!!

  9. i watched the ed curry vid on pepper x, he had a few real chilly heads on it . they tried the pepper and i never seen anyone cry so much and they said it was hotter. feels like 3 times hotter. he sat on the pepper 10 years to grow it out.. sad reg people will never know

  10. Guinness World records have been under scrutiny for a long time. One only needs to look at Karl Jobsts videos on Billy Mitchell to see that they have suffered from confirmation bias as far back as the 1980's with world records in gaming such as Drag Racer and Donkey Kong, along with Twin Galaxies. People are 100% right to be sceptical about Guinness. However, having tasted both raw and sauced Carolina Reaper I think it is likely that Ed Curries statements about Pepper X being a tasty super hot are likely true. Nobody wants just pure heat and no flavour. Regardless of the useless record, Pepper X is a lifetime achievement.

  11. I dont se ed as being partof the comunity at all we all share our pods and crosses for everyone to enjoy he just foes it for clout and to sell his sauce we have lots of great growers forget ed

  12. Omg I bought 5 pepper x seeds roughly 2 months ago ,what have I been sold o dear !

  13. Guinness didn't do the testing themselves. It was independently verified by Winthrop University in South Carolina.

  14. Who’s going to eat it has anyone eaten it yet ,have you tried it how do you test the hotness of these peppers regards des

  15. What good is a pepper if it's so damn hot you can barely even eat hot is good but there needs to be flavor also

  16. First, I have close ties to the growers/curators of Pepper X.

having disclosed that, the plain and simple truth is growers / sauce manufacturers are upset that they can’t get their hands on Pepper X.

therefore, they think best option is to discredit this achievement and are upset with Ed.

    all-in-all, no honor among thieves.

Pepper X is the real deal.

    deal with it

  17. His pepper X has been recognized by Guinness book of world records. I don’t know how he’s polarizing but the Guinness book of world records is official as it gets. Maybe you’re a little jealous? You’re coming off a little hostile

  18. I love the spicy community and the amazing people I have met or follow here on youtube, so let´s not give the trolls & keyboard warriors too much attention – that´s what they feed from. Congratulations to Ed and thank you for your honest view on the subject. I can´t wait to taste that pepper in a sauce!

  19. I was under the assumption that Ed did get it tested properly in a lab with impartial chemists. But I agree with you, seeing the actual results released would be an instant debate settler. I have been invested in pepper X since i first heard about it and Im so excited that its been made official now after tasting the hot sauce and it getting some recognition because its some serious heat

  20. I personally think Troy Primo peppers are far hotter than edds peppers are Troy Primos seven pot brain strain yellow are far far hotter than the reaper

  21. I pretty much believe that it's not the best idea to jump on Ed's bandwagon. 😉

  22. If you’re buying seeds when it has been stated they will not be available then that’s on you and not really a valid reason to say it is a bad move.

  23. Hard to know whats real anymore.. ed gets the heavily criticized new world record, then next thing i see is people calling him a thief.. 🤷‍♂️

  24. Guinness book didn't do the measurements for the pepper X validation, Winthrop University in South Carolina made the independent validation using specimens from the last 4 years of crops.

  25. am new to growing chili but one problem i have is small pot fly problems, and i have question can you grow a chili plant and mint plant in samme pot ?

  26. Curious – What don't people like about Ed Curry? First I am hearing controversy about him, but I've only seen YouTube videos of him and obviously those probably show him in the best light.

What's the sauce as it were 😛

  27. Its the same with every hobby i get. First i like something. Then i find facebookgroups – and from there it starts. People complaining, crying and throwing stuff at each other.

Lets just grow some chili! 🌶️
Just bought some NFC Tags. I am ready for 2024 Mr. Chilichump! Great Channel you have 🙂

  28. This was my 5th season growing hot peppers. I found your channel during my 1st season when I had only one plant, a Caribbean Hot Pepper (400k SHU). Your videos have helped me immeasurably since.
I appreciate what you do Sir.🤘🌶️🌱🥵

  29. Neutral? Sounding pretty thirsty mate. Keep kicking while you're losing, and by the way buy my peppers. And Ed is smart to say that he's not releasing it to PROTECT the strain from others. Sorry you missed out, he's been screwed before by your type.

  30. So when Guinness presented Ed with the certificate, made the claim "Verified by independent 3rd party testing" that's just being ignored?

Reaper held the record, yet we all know other peppers were hotter than the so called hottest in the world. What some don't understand, not all peppers grown have the same phenom or consistency from pepper to pepper. You can't test just one, two or three peppers. It takes several, from different plants to prove out a record holding claim.

Like doing a speed run, just doing it once doesn't count. You've got to prep, fuel up and do it again in order to claim that time.

Ed is a master, he knows what he's doing. I think in a few years he'll release some seeds. When Pepper Z is proven, ready fot market. Ed is gonna milk the cash cow for as long as he can, we all would.

  31. Lots of breeders of other organism species don’t release specimens until they have stabilised the genetics and caught any interesting early mutations, this is especially important when breeding fish, as that next perfect pattern or colour morph might just be one generation down the road, that said, nobody is as excited about guppies as they are about the “worlds most” anything, let alone a record breaking pepper.

  32. I think its a little disappointing that chilli lovers wont be able to actually taste the pepper x in its raw state to experience the heat and flavours.

  33. As someone who has grown multiple Reapers in the past, I find the idea of a pepper closing in on 3 million Scovilles do be useless. Too much heat for anything food related.
