How to Make the Best Chili Oil | Chinese Hot Oil | Nom Life Recipe

We hope you enjoy our homemade chili oil! This recipe has been passed down from Jeromy’s family in Hong Kong (shoutout Aunt June!), and it goes perfectly with dumplings, fried rice, eggs, and many other dishes!

Ingredients:
1 cup canola oil
1 tbsp sesame seeds
1 whole minced garlic
2-3 star anise
2-3 bay leaves
1/2 cinnamon stick
1/2 tsp sugar
1.5 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp crushed coriander
3/4 chicken bouillon cube

the spicy tings:
2 tbsp chili flakes
2 tbsp Sichuan peppercorns (crushed)
4-5 dried chilis (broken apart)
3-4 birds eye chilis
