Holiday spreads have been my last holdout because of memories and traditions. Also, I love mushroom stroganoff, but I've made the vegetarian version…on to the vegan version now. It's so much easier than we've been given to think to eat flavorful and fully nutritious vegan meals. I'm with you on the Tday menu. I"ve always made a TON of food – big breakfast, mains, sides, snacks/appetizers throughout the day, desserts… for who?! lol This year we kept it simple with a main, two sides, store-bought rolls for my husband, and a simple ramekin dessert. Done. Absolutely NO regrets.
I shop 4 a recipe and then change my mind almost every week😄

Sarah, your Thanksgiving feast looks delectable. Congratulations on such an impressive dinner. You sound so calm in the video but I can only imagine that you had to be, at least a little bit stressed, with all of that going on.
I don't know if you have time to answer my question or not but . . . I love seitan and, despite being a skilled and experienced vegan cook, I just cannot seem to get it right. It always comes out hard and rubbery. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Too much wheat gluten? Too much needing? Not enough steaming? I have no idea, but I know you are a methodical cook so I feel certain you might have had some tweeking to do before you got it down pat. Any tips you can offer me would be greatly appreciated.

Congee is awesome, especially for cold winter. I fell in love with it the moment I found out this thing exists (it isn't too well known here in Central Europe 😀 ). I am not vegan, but I do meat (with meatballs and fish sauce), vegetarian (with eggs and veggie bouillon), and vegan versions (with seaweed or miso, sprouts, and sometimes tofu), and they are all good! It's exactly the recipe where even we meat-eaters don't need meat at all, which is great because I am trying not to eat it so often (hence my following your channel). And I think it will also work very well with vegan meat substitutes, although I haven't tried those. By the way, Sadia from Pick Up Limes had variants of savoury oatmeal on her channel, and it seemed worth trying (especially the chipotle one), although I hadn't gotten to try that myself yet.
Sarah I really enjoyed this video 😊 Unfortunately I’ve never been much of a soup fan. I know soup is nutritious and great for cold days but I just wasn’t into it. However my tastes have changed quite a bit in the four years I’ve been a vegan so I’m going to give your soup a try. Wish me luck. Thanks for the recipes!

ad corn to your cornbread! water and all! I like mine more of the texture of corn pudding and that really helps. plus melted butter and some nondairy milk to give it a more cakey texture
