Hi everybody everybody I’m back everybody Genie young is back to show you all how easy it is to make delicious potato sausage peppers and onions this recipe oh listen it’s absolutely amazing it tastes so good doesn’t require a lot of ingredients if you make a Gina Young
Style your taste buds will love you for this recipe here’s the ingredients you’re going to need of course you’re going to need some potatoes your favorite potato I will be using the Idaho Potato today we’re going to use a nice sweet Vidalia onion and I’m using
Eage smoked sausage you can use any kind of smoked sausage that you love if you don’t eat pork use turkey okay or beef and we have some beautiful bell peppers here different colors you’re going to need some spices to make this thing taste good we have um salt and pepper
Parsley flakes for color garlic and onion powder and paprika and you’re going to need some oil make sure your hands are impeccably clean let’s get started with this amazing recipe Gina Young style first thing I want to do is I want to talk about what we’re GNA do to the
Potatoes well we’re gonna make fried potatoes right and so when gie young makes fried potatoes here’s what I like to do it’s a little secret um I don’t just cut and peel my potatoes and start to fry them I don’t fry them in the oven
Either what I like to do is I peel them I cut them and then I put them in salted water to boil for around about 7 to 10 minutes not until they get fork tender but just to start the cooking process because as we all know fried potatoes
Can take sometimes forever in a day to cook and so what I’m doing is I’m reducing that time that it takes to fry your potatoes and get them cooked to Perfection I’m going to go ahead and answer the question real quick is it going to make a mushy heck no it’s not
Going to make a mushy because we didn’t fully cook the potatoes okay what we did was just just start the potatoes just a little bit and then and then drain them and here we are we have the potatoes in a bowl and they’re set over here to cool
When I come back I’m going to show you how easy this recipe can be put together so let me show you how I like to peel and cut my potatoes if you wanted to cut your potatoes into round medallions by all means you can but
Here’s what I’d like to do and of course you can always use a vegetable pillar okay so once we get it nice and peeled I like to cut my potatoes oh I’d like to say like medium size so let’s take a peek at how I like to do
That try your best to make them all the same size that way they cook around the same time if you got little tiny pieces and you got big huge pieces you’ll have the little pieces that fried up quicker than the bigger pieces in the meantime between time we
Have this beautiful smoke sausage here that we are going to cut into medallions and actually you can chop them up if you wanted to we’re going to give them a nice fry and what I mean by a fry I I have a little bit of oil in my pan if
You take a look over here uh you’ll see how much oil just a little bit just to get the sausage going but I’m aiming for beautiful golden brown color on each side of the sausage just like so so once we get this into the pan with the oil

When you’re frying your potatoes you need a large pan so that the potatoes are not sticking on top of each other if they’re sitting on top of each other guess what’s going to happen well they’re just going to steam they need for each circumference of the potato to

The sausage today I think I’m going to go ahead and put them in with the sausage okay and I don’t want to cook them too much if you cook your bell peppers too much what happens is they kind of lose that vibrant gorgeous color right and I don’t want mushy on peppers
And onions either okay so this and you can control you know how how you know the texture that you’re looking for okay so now that our sausages oh I’d like to say 80% done put your bell peppers and onions right in and cook them to the consistency that you’re looking for in a
Few minutes we’ll check in on those potatoes just like so let’s stir this around for a second so now I wanted to talk about something right real quick look how gorgeous that is are you a person that loves Tomatoes does your family love tomatoes if you are or they do uh you
Can put tomatoes in this recipe but guess what don’t put fresh in there because if you cook the fresh it it just gets too soft a little too quick so what you would do is you would get you like one of those 15 or 14 oz cans of the
Chopped tomatoes and then you would added to this like the last couple minutes of the cooking process you want to make sure you drain it but it brings great flavor if you if you love tomatoes let’s talk about something really quick um it’s funny cuz my

Like to do well I like to season the fried potatoes when they’re just really uh close to being done when they’re close to being done you know that potato’s nice and soft in the inside you got that beautiful golden brown crispiness to it then you go ahead and
Season it let me show you all the consistency that I was looking for for my bell peppers they have begun to get nice and soft they still have that nice beautiful vibrant color they’re not mushy that’s what we’re looking for I should have some nice beautiful golden brown color that I’m looking for
Let’s take a peek in oh yes and guess what another trick that I’m going to tell tell you all don’t cover your fried potatoes there’s no need to do that and if you want your fried potatoes to be nice and crispy don’t cover them because if you cover them with a lid what’s
Going to happen well they’re going to be mushy right and and what I think of when I think of a fried potato it’s supposed to be light Airy and fluffy in the inside like a mashed potato in the outside is supposed to be so crunchy and
Gorgeous and look at that color look it took it a season if you can’t use salt don’t worry about it don’t use it okay we’re going to put some garlic powder and honestly I’m going to put a nice amount of zigar powder okay we’re going to put some paprika this is not smoked
Paprika I’m not a fan of smoked papra okay and in with the onion powder even though we’re using onions you need it okay A little bit of black pepper and then we’re going to bring our meat and our veggies into the equation and guess what your recipe is done Happy New
