This is a super quick, easy, and probably the best Chinese beef stir fry. It comes from the northwest of China, typically Shannxi province, due to the heavily packed spices. It yields a succulent tender meat with complex smoky flavors that can easily make you indulge in a few bowls of white rice.

INGREDIENTS
300g / 10.6 oz beef
1 Tbsp of soy sauce (Amazon Link – https://geni.us/light-soy-sauce)
1 Tbsp of oyster sauce (Amazon Link – https://geni.us/premium-oyster-sauce)
2 tsps of brown sugar (Amazon Link – https://geni.us/brown-sugar)
½ tsp dark soy sauce (Amazon Link – https://geni.us/dark-soy-sauce)
¼ tsp of baking soda
½ sweet onion
4 green chilies
4 cloves of garlic
2 tsps of cumin seeds, roasted (Amazon Link – https://geni.us/cumin-seeds)
2 tsps of sesame seeds, roasted (Amazon Link – https://geni.us/white-sesame-seeds-w)
3 Tbsps of oil
2 Tbsps Chinese cooking wine (Amazon Link – https://geni.us/Shao-xing-ooking-wine)
2 tsp of red chili flake (Amazon Link – https://geni.us/chili-flake)
1 tsp ground black pepper (Amazon Link – https://geni.us/black-peppercorns)
1/4 tsp salt

INSTRUCTIONS

Slice the beef into ⅛-inch thick slices. Recommend using beef chuck, flank steak, strip steak, and sirloin.

Marinade the beef with 1 Tbsp of soy sauce, 1 Tbsp of oyster sauce, 2 tsps of brown sugar, ½ tsp dark soy sauce, and 1/4 tsp of baking soda and mix well. Set it aside for 10 minutes.

While waiting, slice 1/2 of a sweet onion thinly. Smack 4 green chilies to release the flavors and cut it into bite-size damon shapes (If you don’t eat spicy food, use bell pepper). Crush 5 cloves of garlic, smash and peel them. If your sesame seeds and cumin seeds are raw, toast them in a wok over medium-low heat for a minute or 2 and set them aside.

Turn the heat to high and heat the wok until smoking hot. Add oil and swirl the oil around to create a non-stick later at the bottom. Add the marinaded beef and let it stir for 2 minutes or until nicely charred.

Drizzle 2 Tbsps Chinese cooking wine from the side of the wok to help to deglaze the bottom.

Add the onion, chili pepper, and garlic. Stir for 1.5 minutes or until the vegetables are slightly soft.

Add the ground black pepper, red chili flake, roasted cumin seeds, sesame seeds, and 1/4 tsp of salt. Continue to fry for 30 seconds or until everything is well mingled.

Hi everyone I’m Mandy welcome to Soup recipes today I just want to share a quick easy and probably the best Chinese beef stir fry the recipe comes from the northwest of China typically Shi Province due to the heavily impact spices it yeled a succulent tender meat with complex Smoky flavors that can make

You easily indulge in a few bowl of white rice please hit the like button and and let’s get started I’m using strip steak today which has a tough silver skin on the side I like to remove it cut the beef into a few big chunks then slice the beef thinly by the way

Besides strip stick you can also use beef chuck flank steak and seoin for this recipe marinate it with 1 tbspoon of soy sauce one tbspoon of oyster sauce two teaspoon of brown sugar half teaspoon of dark soy sauce and a/4 teaspoon of baking soda to tenderize the

Meat mix well and set it aside let’s prepare the rest of the ingredients half of a sweet onion peel it and slice it thinly five cloves of garlic Smash and peel them some green chilies lightly smack them this helps to release the flavor cut them into diagonal pieces you can remove

The seeds if you want this is pretty hot if you don’t eat spicy food you can use bell pepper instead besides that you will also need 1 teaspoon of ground black pepper 2 teaspoon of red chili flake if you can’t handle spicy food you can use smoked paprika instead the most important

Flavor profile is the cumin seed and the sesame seed these are raw so I have to add them into a walk and stir over low heat for a minute or two you can skip this step if yours are roasted already set them aside and we can start

Cooking turn the heat to high and heat the walk until smoking hot that is the most crucial part of this recipe because high heat helps the oil to form a non-stick layer at the bottom of the Walk which makes the cooking smooth and enjoyable also when the meat touches the

Hot metal it Sears immediately and create beautiful mayard reactions and Smoky flavors before the beef gets overcooked that is how you make this dish taste better than a restaurant the walk is super hot so in about 2 minutes of stirring the meat should be nicely charred drizzle in some

Chinese cooking wine from the side of the walk to help to De glaze the bottom add the onion chili pepper and garlic stir for 1 and A2 minute or until the vegetables are slightly soft add the ground black pepper red chili flake roasted cumin seeds sesame seeds and a/4 teaspoon of salt continue

To fry for 30 seconds or until everything is well mingled and you are done H look how easy was that the actual cooking time is less than 5 minutes plus the prepping you can definitely whip up this dish within 15 minutes the beef is meaty tender and

Juicy the flavor is phenomenal it is so Savory with a slight sweetness from the brown sugar which balance all the spices and heat perfectly I hope you keep this a try soon as as always the printable recipe link is in the description go check it out don’t forget to like And

    Your foods are beautiful ❤️❤️
    Great Video Mandy!!👍🏾👍🏾

  2. So I tried it with a few swap outs, yellow peppers too, no chili’s but red pepper flakes, ground cumin instead of whole, pork in place of beef…but I have to say the marinade was the best ingredient, the meat tastes soooo good. After it was all done, I added chinese rice noodles, and the great taste was gone. I’d make more marinade to add at the end. Also, if you don’t like heat, don’t add any hot peppers at all. My mouth is screaming a 3 alarm fire right now!!!! And yes, it was easy to make, but mas en plas please.

  7. I’m surprised to see cumin seed in this recipe as this it more typically associated with Mexican or Indian foods. The lack of a sauce is also interesting. As always, I love your videos and recipes. Thank you for your gift to us 😊
