Home gardening tips for chili plants
Growing chili plants at home can be a rewarding experience, especially with the right guidance. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to grow chili plants at home:
*Choosing the Right Variety*
– Select a chili variety that suits your desired level of spiciness and flavor.
– Popular varieties include Jalapeno, Serrano, Cayenne, and Anaheim.
*Starting from Seeds*
– Sow seeds indoors 8-10 weeks before the last frost date in your area.
– Plant seeds ¼ inch deep and 1 inch apart in a seed starting mix.
– Keep the soil warm (around 80°F) and moist.
– Transplant seedlings into individual pots once they have 2-3 sets of leaves.
*Soil and Sunlight*
– Use a well-draining potting mix with a pH between 6.0 and 7.0.
– Chili plants require full sun (at least 6 hours of direct sunlight) and warm temperatures (above 60°F).
*Watering and Fertilization*
– Water regularly, but avoid overwatering, which can lead to root rot.
– Feed your chili plants with a balanced fertilizer (10-10-10 NPK) once a month.
*Support and Pruning*
– Provide support for your chili plants as they grow, using tomato cages or trellises.
– Prune your plants regularly to encourage bushy growth and prevent them from becoming leggy.
*Pest and Disease Management*
– Keep an eye out for pests like aphids, whiteflies, and spider mites.
– Regularly inspect your plants for signs of disease like leaf spot, root rot, or powdery mildew.
*Harvesting*
– Green chilies are ready to harvest when they reach their full size and color.
– Use scissors or a sharp knife to snip off the chilies, leaving a small piece of stem attached to the plant.
Some additional tips to keep in mind:
– Chili plants can be sensitive to temperature fluctuations, so avoid placing them near drafty windows or air conditioning vents.
– Avoid over-handling your chili plants, as this can cause stress and reduce yields.
– Consider growing chili plants in containers, which can help with soil temperature and moisture control.

I have kept the seeds in the port in this way, after subscribing to the channel,
after one month, Bismillah Rehman Ra Rahim Assalam, I am Wajahat Iqbal and welcome
you to Fun Bagicha channel and also hope that you all are well.
You people know that we are growing vegetables in our garden, so if we
do not grow green chillies in it then the vegetables will not be complete. Would
it be better if we collect fresh vegetables from our garden and use them in the kitchen
? Today we are going to plant this chilli, actually it is a variety of green chilli,
Pepper Jala Pino, this green chilli is A1 variety, it is a hybrid,
we can take out its seeds and grow them for the next time, we cannot grow them for the second time. First of all. We take it out
, it will be green, later when it gets ripe, then it will turn red. The seeds are
like this. They actually have a fungal side and pesticide, a chemical applied on them.
Spray is applied to prevent Hasra and any other fungus. These seeds
can be saved from the bacteria that are present in them. I can plant them in a port. The port I am using for this is a
6-inch earthen pot. In this, we will prepare its paneer. First, the paneer
will be ready. Later, we will prepare its sealing. We will shift the prepared Paneeri
into a big pot. First of all, we have to prepare the soil, what kind of
soil do they like, in which their germination can happen well, then in it
we have taken two parts of normal garden soil and one part of which we are good in it. Similarly, you can use decomposed cow
dung, you can use leaf compost or you
can use vermi compost, but you can use any kind of manure in it,
it should be organic because we are doing organic gardening only. Let ‘s
mix it well. It
is very important to have a drainage hole at the bottom of the port so that the chances of over water are eliminated. The excess water will
drain out through the drainage hole at the bottom. We will cover it with the help of a plank.
Because I have filled the port with water like this, now we plant the seeds. We
have to plant them separately so that when we take out its seeding, their roots
will not be bound together if we plant them at one place.
If you sow the seeds, the plants will germinate. Plants
will come out, but their roots will connect with each other in such a way that when we
shift them to a bigger pot, the plants will grow more. The seeds will go away under stress.
I have placed them in the port in this manner. You
can place them in any direction. You can place them in any way. Now you can also apply a thin layer of coco peat on it
if you have it available. If not, then we will make a layer of the same soil so that
the seeds which are there are covered because if the seeds remain visible outside like this then
their germination will not start. After covering, I
have slammed the port in such a way that the air pockets which are there are covered. Whatever soil is there should be gone, whatever soil is there should be buried and it should
settle properly in its place. Now we will water it. We have to water it so much that
whatever is there in the pot gets filled in one go.
We will apply the water slowly so that the water remains in the water well. Due to the pressure of water due to the throw,
the seeds should not move from their place. Now we will keep it in a shady area.
Stay with me and let’s see after how many days their germination starts. Right now we
will not put it in direct sunlight. Because of the water being hot, because
of the soil being hot, the seeds that are in them can get heated due to tapas, their germination will
not start, they can melt, we will put a tag on it so that we can remember
which one. In which pot have we planted which vegetable? I have put the tag of chilli on it.
You can make any kind of tag to remind us which vegetable we
have planted in which pot. After 10 days, the number of chilli seeds we have planted. Their germination
has started in this way, this is the plant that is being formed, in the same way this tiny
plant is getting ready, this one is getting germinated, here this one is getting germinated,
similarly the germination of all the seeds that were planted. It has started,
after one month, all the chilli seeds that were planted have now been formed and now it
is time to shift them to a bigger port in a separate port so that since this
space is too less for them, See, the growth of all the seeds we had planted
is going very well right now, Mashallah, but the space they have in the future
is very less. See, the roots from below have started coming out, so it
means. That even the chances of being route bound will increase, the danger of being route bound will increase.
It is also bounded. For one plant, I am using a 12 inch pot
because the chilli plant in it is small but it
has enough space for one plant. First of all, we need to prepare its soil. Let’s prepare it
in which I am taking one part of compost. Instead of it, the compost I am taking is
cow dung. Instead of this, you can also take vermi compost or you
can also take leaf compost. Two parts of normal garden soil in it. The normal soil is neither
very smooth nor very thick, it is sandy soil, it is sand, this is the type of soil
which is normal garden soil, we will include two parts in it,
mix it well [laughter] ]
We will take the soil which is now ready, it
is a 12 inch pot, it is very important to have a drainage hole in it so that
the chances of over water are eliminated, we
will cover the drainage hole with the help of Tikri in such a way that the water
I have filled three parts of the pot with soil
. I have left one part. Now we separate these plants. With the help of any tool,
you can take it out like this. It is possible that a little bit of soil should also come out along with it
so that the plants are not under too much stress. All the chilli plants we plant are
sealed and shifted to a bigger port in case their roots
feel exposed to air etc. If it goes there, then there is not so much problem, it
grows well, see this, its
roots have come out, see how wonderful it is and its growth is in a good way, it
was happening right between us. We will keep it like this,
we will put the soil that we had prepared around it,
after putting it in this way, we will loosen the soil with the help of hand
and we will slam the port twice or thrice so that the air pocket which is The soil that is there should be finished,
it has settled in its place,
now we will water it, we will fill it with water so that the pot that is there is completely filled in one go.
After watering, we will take it to the shady area. Right now,
we cannot keep it in direct sunlight. Due to the heat of the water, the roots
may melt and fungus may grow in them. The plant is under stress, so after two days
we will keep it in full sunlight. Because
unless all the vegetables we grow in the garden get good sunlight, they
will not start fruiting. Subscribe to the channel, share with your family members,
