Why did I buy it? I found it in the supermarket 4 days ago, and there are no crazy hot sauces at my local supermarkets – they max out at Melinda's Ghost. The hottest thing I've personally consumed are raw habs, so I wanted to know how hot one of these sauces really is, and how bad the extract would taste. I couldn't believe they had it at the store. Idiot sauce time!!
I had three drops on a chip as soon as I got it home. It actually felt a bit weaker than the burn of a fresh habanero, but easier on the tongue, and it only lasted about 5 – 10 minutes. I couldn't actually taste the extract. It was mostly enjoyable.
Of course, I was a little underwhelmed, but I've been eating a lot of hot things lately, so I thought "maybe I've been building a tolerance". I ate a raw hab the next day to compare. It also only lasted about 5-10 minutes and felt a bit milder than usual. Might've been a weak hab. I tried a bird's eye chili as well. It tasted a bit weak, but pretty much as expected.
Fast forward to tonight – I went with about 2/3 of a teaspoon slathered on a fake chicken nugget. This time it felt like a pretty damn hot, with a good 15 minute burn. Still easier on the tongue than a raw hab, but a lot of back of the throat ghost burn instead. It also gave me some mild cap cramps.
I REALLY tasted the extract this time! That shite is bitter! I get why most of you hate it. Still, I only tasted that for about 15 seconds, and I got 15 minutes of solid burn.
I'll buy something that's actually good next time, but this was worth it for the experience. I can probably still use it to put a drop or two into my Ramen – probably for the next three years.🤣
