Are these corn husks ok to use?


I didn’t realize the discoloration but I’ve never even made tamales before. This is my first time and I moved to a city where good quality tamales aren’t available. And I just have a serious craving for them so I’m going to attempt to make some myself.

I know I’m suppose to soak and wash them. But these almost look as though they were charred in the sun or something. Or is that mould?
