  1. I worked for chilis for 5 years. People would get confused by the original crispers. Some would say “I didn’t order fish and chips” or even worse “this fish has no foavor”. Everyone assumed based off the beer batter they were fish. Employees would order them with the awesome blossom batter to get more of a traditional tender. I guess that’s what they changed the menu to

  2. There’s a bar & grill place that started doing beer batter chicken tendies years ago in my hometown. They’re such a slept on place. (At least back like 8ish plus years ago).

  3. As someone who works at chili’s, corporate removed a lot of beloved things from the menu and it breaks my heart telling my regulars we don’t have them anymore.

    The OG crispers will always be in my heart

  4. As someone who works at chilis we use a wet/dry setting still. We used to use a different mix for OG that was thicker and fluffier like tempura.

  5. I met my wife while ordering Chili’s OG Crispers 20 years ago. She was my server. I asked for her number and called her that night. We’ve been together ever since.

  6. Am I crazy? I love the honey chipotle chicken crispers they have now. It’s a much better crispiness than any other chain chicken tenders I’ve had. Maybe I’m the outlier

  8. I worked as a cook at a chilis in 2019-20 and at that time we had both these and the new tenders. They were called “chicken crispers” and “crispy chicken crispers” respectively. I honestly didn’t get a lot of orders for regular crispers so hearing that so many people loved them is shocking to me.

  9. Last meal requests? Potato cakes with the dill-ranch salsa — Claim Jumpers. I moved away and I found a cookbook of favorite food from restaurants. I LOVED those recipes. I learned how to make my own triple decker sandwich cuz I disliked ham but I liked turkey and bacon.

  10. Tempura chicken is the best chicken breading style hands down. And if you think otherwise then you must hate McDonalds nuggets, cause guess what? Tempura batter.

  11. Chili's in my city has roaches. I used to work there. They'd stand on top of the garlic bread like they were king of the hill.

  12. Miss these & you guys remember the little teriyaki bites? They came on like a bed of dry rice noodles or something? Those were FIRE
