I spotted this at the grocery store today and picked it up, even though it cost 5x all the other “super spicy” chili flakes and powders I’ve bought.
Turns out, the other prices are MOSTLY cheap Chinese red pepper, even though they say they have hananero and other peppers in them.
Meanwhile, I give my dinner a light dusting with this stuff and it gave it a serious kick. Like, five times hotter than an expected. Highly recommended.
It stands to reason, since dried habaneros have an actually SHU rating of over 100k.
Now I feel I need to try some reaper dust…
