I bought this plant as a baby at Lowe's. I will acknowledge that buying a pepper plant at Lowe's may take all cards off the table.
I grew it in a small temporary pot, then when 12 inches tall, moved it to this large clay planter. At every stage, I have more aggressively fertilized with Osmocote "Flower and Vegetable" mix. That mix is 14-14-14 (Nitrogen-Phosphate-Potash).
This beast created four strong branches and has produced well over 50 peppers.
My question: some peppers are not hot (green pepper like), and others are true serrano level heat.
We live in Kansas City, MO, and we had a hot (stressful) summer.
Am I harvesting peppers too soon?
Not using the optimal fertilizer?
Thank you for your help.
