Beef Pepper Rice
Ingredients
Sauce(Culinary Frank)
* 1 tbsp neutral oil
* 4 cloves garlic(minced)
* 1 inch knob ginger(minced)
* 1 tbsp sake
* 1 tbsp mirin
* 2 tbsp sugar/honey
* 2 tbsp soy sauce
* 2 tbsp oyster sauce
Preparation
* 2 tbsp neutral oil
* 1/2 onion sliced
* 2 cups cooked short-grain rice
* 1 lbs thinly sliced beef
* 1 cup shimeji mushrooms
* 1/3 cup canned corn
* scallions(sliced)
* 1 tbsp butter
* Sauce
* Black pepper
Instructions
Sauce
1. Heat oil in a pan on medium low heat and sautƩ garlic and ginger until fragrant(2 minutes).
2. Add sake, mirin, and sugar and simmer until the sugar is dissolved.
3. Add soy sauce and oyster sauce and simmer until slightly thickened(5 minutes), then set it aside.
Preparation
1. Heat oil on a cast iron pan on medium heat and sautƩ onions until lightly caramelized.
2. Move onions to the middle and place a mound of rice on top. Place thinly sliced beef and mushrooms around the rice.
3. Add corn, scallions, butter, a drizzle of the sauce, and black pepper on top of the rice. Pour in 1/3 of the sauce and add more to taste.
4. Give it a mix while it’s still on medium heat and enjoy.

  4. Is the mixture of garlic, ginger, sake, mirin, sugar, soy sauce, and oyster sauce way better than just soy sauce, oyster sauce, and honey?
