Tips!
*Cook the meat in the pressure cooker or stovetop the night before with salt, onion, and garlic, reserve 4 cups of its broth, skim the top to remove the fat!
*the amount of water to add to your steamer pot depends on the size, each pot is different
*wrap the tables with tamal wrap(parchment paper) this helps to keep the tamales secured
*steam on medium low for up to 2 hours
*make sure to clean and soak the corn husks a night before

  1. Wow the masa looks so watery at the end 😮😮. My mom never leaves it like that lol.shes my only guide for comparison 😂😂. Hers are delicious tho. I wonder how different the texture would be if i made yours. Thanks for sharing!

  2. I have been wanting to make tamales for a couple years now, I have never tried. When I lived in Las Vegas, my neighbor would bring us the most amazing tamales every Christmas eve. I can't wait to try this, you make things so easy, thank you 🙂

  3. Unfortunately I have never had a tamale that I wanted another of. I lived in Texas, had many tamales and never really liked the masa it was always plain and really bland. I've had many different tamales from many Abuelas and this is the only one that makes me crave a tamale. You treat the masa as a star of the show instead of only a vessel and that's what's I've always been missing I think.

  4. Hello beautiful lady! Going to give these a run. I have made tamales the last four years and they have been some of the best I have ever eaten and I’m an old white guy raised in a west Texas barrio…. My wife spreads the masa and I add the filling and fold them up….we have a little assembly line, it works great.

  5. Hello! What type of chiles to use if I don’t want it spicy at all? My family can’t have any spice due to digestive issues. Thank you!

  6. Well who would have known lol NO ICE LOL she’s doing it the right way smh trends these day putting ice in masa! SMH this why I love this channel no weird shit….

  7. Claudia looks so delicious! have a question , when you buy masa preparada you still need to add these ingredients or are some completely prepared?
