Making the best chili with our secret ingredient that everyone has on hand



How to make the best chili so you can say that it is an award winning chili. It’s also one of the most easier chili recipes ever and we teach you how to adjust your chili with the ingredients you may have on hand. We had some left over roast beef so we just ground our own. #chili #chilirecipe

Chili recipe using raw, lean ground beef
5lbs lean ground beef
2 medium-large onions, diced
2 stalks celery, diced (optional, we just needed to use it up)
2 green bell peppers, seeded and diced
2-3 jalapeños, seeded and diced
1-2 tbsp minced garlic (or 8 cloves of garlic)
1.5 tbsp sweet paprika
6 tbsp chili powder (add more or less to taste)
1 tbsp ground cumin
1 tbsp cocoa powder
1 tsp dried oregano
2 tbsp tomato paste
4-6 cups of beef broth (we suggest adding some beef or chicken bouillon (2 cubes) or concentrate (2 tbsp )as well, but it is optional) You can even just add water just add more salt to taste when seasoning
2x 14.5 ounce canned crushed tomatoes
2 x 14.5 ounce canned diced tomatoes (we used fire roasted tomatoes)
2x 19 ounce red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1/4 cup ketchup or 1 tbsp of sugar (this is optional if you find your tomatoes are not too acidic
Salt and pepper to taste

In a large pot on medium-high heat, brown your ground beef and you have the option to drain the access fat but leave some to saute your veg. Add in the onions and celery and season with salt and pepper and cook for about 5 min. Now add in your garlic and cook for another 3-5 minutes. Add your peppers and jalapeños and cook for 2 minutes. Now add all the spices and stir, add your stock and continue to stir until everything is mixed. Add in your tomato paste and cook for about 3 minutes stirring continuously. Add in remaining ingredients and let simmer on lowfor about an hour or an hour an half stirring occasionally
