Black Pepper Chicken Recipe | Easy Chinese Style | Chicken in Black Pepper Sauce | Chinese Stir Fry | Spicy Chicken Recipe
Juicy and tender Chicken breasts cubes lightly fried till Golden Brown then dunked in a sweet spicy umami Black Pepper Sauce along with Red Chilies, Bell Peppers and Onions. This Chinese Chicken Stir Fry is not only easy to make but it is loaded with healthy lean protein and colorful veggies that make it perfect as a one-pot meal.

INGREDIENTS
For Sauce
1/2 Teaspoon Black Pepper, freshly grounded
1 Teaspoon Brown Sugar/Honey
1 Tablespoon Dark Soy Sauce
1 Tablespoon Oyster Sauce
1 Tablespoon Rice Vinegar/White Vinegar
To Add for Gravy
1 Tablespoon Oyster Sauce
1 Tablespoon Corn Flour/Starch
To Marinate
300g Chicken Breast Fillets, cubed
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
1 Tablespoon Corn Flour/Starch
1/2 Teaspoon Baking Soda
1 Tablespoon of Prepared Sauce
1 Tablespoon Vegetable Oil to Fry
For Gravy
1 Tablespoon Vegetable Oil
2 Teaspoon Minced Ginger Garlic
2 Red Chilis, sliced thin
1 Cup Red & Green Bell Peppers, Cubed
1/2 Cup Onion, cubed
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
Prepared Sauce
1/2 Cup Chicken Stock/Warm Water
Fried Chicken
1/2 Teaspoon Black Pepper, freshly grounded
1 Teaspoon Sesame oil
Red Chilis sliced, to Garnish optional
METHOD
1. Mix Brown Sugar, Black Pepper, Dark Soy Sauce, Oyster Sauce and Rice Vinegar together. Mix till the Sugar dissolves.
2. Add 1 Tablespoon of the prepared Sauce to Boneless Chicken Cubes. Add Cornstarch, Salt and Baking Soda. Mix Well and rest for 15-20 Mins.To the prepared Sauce, Add Oyster Sauce and Cornstarch for the Gravy, Mix till smooth.
3. Fry the Chicken Cubes in Oil till Golden Brown on both Sides on Low Heat. This will take only few minutes as its boneless. Keep them aside.
4. In the same pan, add Vegetable Oil. Saute minced Ginger Garlic then add thinly sliced red chilies. Add the cubed Bell Peppers and Onions. Add salt to taste.
5. Add the prepared Sauce and Chicken Stock. I mixed 1 Bullion cube with half cup hot water as i didn’t have any fresh Chicken Stock.
6. Add the Fried Chicken cubes once the sauce thickens a bit.
7. Garnish with freshly grounded pepper, red chilies and sesame oil. Adjust water in the gravy according to your preference. Best served with white rice or fried rice.
Tips: Use either Boneless Chicken Breast or Thighs for this dish. Freshly Grounded Black Pepper is a must to get the real flavor of Black Peppercorns. Adding Fresh Red Chilies adds a sweet spicy profile to the dish. However if you do not have red chilies, you can use green chilies instead.
