  1. The only thing I cook for hours is my broths, or a chuck roast in the oven. We make chile, but cook stovetop all total maybe hour…..what is advantage of a 4-5 hour cook? I can guess….

  2. That was great. I will not be making that amount for the two of us but if the family all got together that would be the amount I would have to make as we have 4 kids with 12 grandkids and 2 great grandsons so that pot would be great. Thank you for the recipe. Hearts and flowers coming your way. ❤️💐

  3. We went to our son”s yesterday to drop off a birthday gift for him.We actually wanted to see granddaughters and decided to come home before the SuperBowl. We just was not in mood for crowd and assumed that party was going to be a bunch of young kids. Then we had to laugh because our son turned 38 so that crowd was nearing 40!I can’t up but think I’m am 40 and he’s 20!!Yikes!!!

  4. Congratulations! One can never go wrong with a big pot of chili, and if there is any leftovers, it's even better the next day.

  5. Whoa!! I have never seen a chiii made with those ingredients! Cornmeal? Cocoa powder? Coffee? That was a first for me. Now you definitely need to post a recipe.

  6. I use my crackpot more in the summer than winter. That way, I don't heat up my kitchen, and I have food ready when I'm done in the garden. I watch the Super Bowl for the commercials!😂 I love these kinds of vlogs. Just you and me visiting over making food.

  7. So in Mexico theres a sauce made from dark chocolate , tomatoes, dried chilies (poblanos, morita, etc.) onions and galic. It's called Mole. It goes on top of chicken mostly. Both Aztecs and Mayans made Mole sauce.

  8. Congrats on 100,000 followers 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
FYI -I like to use pinto beans and cannellini beans when I make soup and chili. My family is not a fan of kidney beans.
    Blessings from NE Mississippi 🙏🏻

  9. My mother in law is very much a recipe woman and she has a chili cook-off thing coming up and asked me for my recipe and I was like uuhhhh, I just eyeball everything. I know the ingredients I like and use, and I get those and go to town on it. Like it's really hard to mess up chili imo haha! Yours sounds great! I'm glad we aren't all recipe people 😂

  10. Love your new channel. Love your down to earth vibe! I have 5 children, only 3 locally but I try to cook for them on holidays. The grandchildren are the hardest as they have grown up on commercially prepared food. The only thing they really like is my banana bread!

  11. “I’m going to measure with my heart today.” Man, that sounds familiar-ish. My mom always said “‘til it looks right”.

The roles have flipped and I’m the mom now teaching my young adult daughter. She’s a science major (I’m more of an artist) so she wants precise measurements. That’s a challenge for me as well.

“Cooking from the heart” or “‘til it looks right” means that you’re adding seasonings, vegetables and aromatics to your particular taste. I will reference an actual recipe for the baseline and go from there. It’s much more fun.

  12. Congratulations on 100k, now you can have matching palaces, tell sweet Miah to hurry up with the posts, we need to see how that new greenhouse is doing. ❤

  13. My favorite use for a crock pot is making Clotted Cream. I use it in so many different desserts and on fresh scones. It can be frozen for a few months, so it is nice to have it on hand.

  14. Crock pot meals are always moist heat. Oven meals are drier, even with the lid on the dutch oven. I usually leave the lid off, at least for awhile, to get a bit of browning.

  15. There are only 2 of us here in this house. I always make lots of chili. I freeze in 2 c n 4 c servings. Then freeze. I feel chili is better if frozen first. Also my dad taught us to make cornbread pancakes just big enuf to fit in bottom of bowl. Then cover with any soupy foods. I make a big batch cornbread cakes n freeze.

  16. cool bean on 100k sweetie now when I make my chili it takes 3 day and do it in my crockpot on very low, now I can make it faster then that but the reason is because I must Infuse the meat and make it thick as my brother love that way lol so its nice your showing how do it your way

  17. Jess I have been in a few states and as far as know buying pork sausage is not an issue I just think people don't know what to look for
