The $2 Ramen Recipe ANYONE Can Make (Garlic Chili Oil Ramen)

$2 garlic chili oil ramen might be the BEST way to make instant ramen. You can take a boring $0.30 packet of ramen and make it taste like a $20 gourmet dish for the low price of $2 per serving! Hell yeah brother 😎

RECIPE ⬇️

Double or triple this recipe if you want!

🥘 Ingredients

1 pack of instant ramen ($0.30)
Sliced green onion ($0.12)
1 whole egg ($0.50)
Soy Sauce ($0.05)

Garlic Chili Oil
¼ cup oil (any cheap neutral oil like vegetable oil works) ($0.25)
3 garlic cloves (minced) ($0.15)
1 tbsp green onion whites (sliced) ($0.12)
1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds ($0.25)
1 tbsp red chili flakes ($0.25)
½ tbsp smoked paprika ($0.10)

TOTAL: $2.09 per serving

Soy Marinated Ramen Eggs (OPTIONAL)
¾ cup Soy Sauce
3 tbsp Sugar
1 tbsp Sesame Oil
1 tbsp Sriracha
1 tbsp Rice Vinegar
2 oz Water

S/O to my buddy Micheal from @foodwithbearhands for this ramen egg recipe!

✍️ Instructions

FOR THE EGGS:
Boil your eggs for 6 ½ minutes then plunge immediately into an ice bath for 5 minutes (boil longer if you want a medium or hard boiled egg)
Peel, cut in half, and add your soft boiled eggs to your finished ramen

OPTIONAL SOY MARINATED EGGS:
Mix all soy marinated ramen egg ingredients together in a mason jar
Add your soft boiled eggs to the mason jar and let them marinade in the fridge for at least 2 hours (ideally overnight)
I recommend boiling and marinating 6 eggs at a time if you’re going to do this!

FOR THE RAMEN:
Heat the ¼ cup of neutral oil over medium-high heat.
While that heats up, mix together the rest of your Garlic Chili Oil ingredients into a heat-safe mixing bowl.
Once your oil just begins to smoke, CAREFULLY pour into your bowl over your Garlic Chili Oil ingredients. The oil will sizzle. This is normal.
Stir all of your Garlic Chili Oil ingredients together and set aside. Save a little in a separate bowl to garnish your final dish.

Boil your instant ramen packets in boiling water according to package instructions. Reserve a little bit of your noodle water in a cup when they’re finished and strain the rest.

Add your noodles to the mixing bowl with your Garlic Chili Oil, soy sauce to taste, and your reserved noodle water. You can also add some of your ramen packet seasoning to the mix as well.
Mix well and add your upgraded ramen noodles to a warm bowl. Top each bowl with a soft boiled egg, sliced green onion, and extra chili oil. Enjoy 🙂
