Enjoy this simple savory crab recipe.Try it yourself to experience the “dampa” style and taste that is popular in the Philippines.
Ingredients:
1. 1 kilogram crab
2. 2 tbsp cooking oil
3. 3 tbsp garlic, minced
4. 3 tbsp ginger, minced
5. 3 tbsp hoisin sauce
6. 1/2 cup tomato ketchup
7. 1/2 cup sweet chili or chili only sauce
8. 3 tbsp fish sauce (patis)
9. 1 tsp chili powder (add more if you want it to be more spicy)
10. 1/4 cup butter (salted/unsalted)
11. 1/4 cup water
Procedure:
1. Wash the crabs and cut it into half.
2. Heat the cooking pot and pour the cooking oil.
3. Saute the garlic and ginger.
4. Add the crabs and cook for 5 minutes in medium heat.
5. Put in the hoisin sauce, tomato ketchup, sweet chili sauce, fish sauce (patis), butter and chili powder. Mix.
5. Pour in water and bring to a boil.
6. Simmer for 15minutes or until the sauce thickens.
7. Transfer to a serving plate.
