QUICK & EASY PAN FRIED JIMMY NARDELLO PEPPERS! | HARVEST & COOK

Get ready to elevate your cooking game with the ultimate technique for pan-frying Jimmy Nardello peppers to perfection!

In this video, I’m sharing my secret to achieving the best pan fried peppers that will impress even the pickiest of eaters. From harvesting the freshest peppers to mastering the perfect cooking time, I’m covering it all.

For those who might not know, Jimmy Nardello peppers are a variety of sweet, elongated peppers that are perfect for snacking, adding to sandwiches, or, as we’re going to explore today, pan-frying to perfection. I’m super excited to share with you my secret technique for getting that ideal extra delicious goodness of this sweet Italian pepper. The joy of biting into a perfectly fried Jimmy Nardello pepper is unbeatable.

So, let’s get started with the process. First, you’ll want to choose fresh, firm Jimmy Nardello peppers. Look for ones that are bright in color and have a nice glossy finish. In this video, I harvested the peppers right from our backyard garden. Next, give them a good wash and pat them dry with a paper towel – you want them dry so they sear properly in the pan. For the frying process, I recommend using a neutral-tasting oil with a high smoke point, like avocado oil. Pour just enough oil to coat the peppers, and then heat it up to a medium-high setting. Make sure not to overcrowd the pan. You might need to cook them in batches depending on the size of your pan. Let them cook for about 3-4 minutes on the first side, or until they develop a nice char. Then, gently flip them over and cook for another 3-4 minutes. The goal is to get a nice, even sear on all sides.

This is where my secret method comes in – and I’m excited to share it with you. The game-changer is using a combination of soy sauce, garlic and lemon peel for the frying process. Yes, you heard that right – lemon peel. It adds a richness and depth of flavor that you just can’t get with garlic alone. So, here’s what you do: after you’ve seared your peppers on both sides, reduce the heat to medium low, and pour the mixture to the pan, and stir, making sure all the peppers are coated.

The lemon peel adds this incredible savory element that complements the natural sweetness of the peppers. And when you take that first bite… it’s just magic. It’s a match made in heaven.

To recap, the key points are choosing the right peppers, using the right type and amount of oil, and that crucial step of adding lemon peel for that extra layer of flavor. It’s surprisingly simple, yet incredibly effective.

If you’re as excited as I am about trying this recipe, I encourage you to give it a go and share your experiences in the comments below.
