  1. Even with the endearing PSA it’s painful to see you using flavor packets. That is not you cooking.

  2. People make this same recipe in New Mexico – they just add a lot of fresh roasted green chilis (If you know, you know) instead of the pickled chilis.

  3. 02:55 Me: You want me to scissor the chicken, huh?
Chef John (Nicholson): I want you to scissor it – BETWEEN YOUR KNEES!

  4. Sorry Chef John, I read the ingredients and it made me feel nauseous. I subbed yogurt mixed with dried oregano, garlic powder, and a pinch of msg and it was a hit.

  5. Such a good idea! I’m not ready for this dish yet, though. It’s 92 degrees today. In a couple months I’ll be all over this. šŸ˜€

  6. when you said scissor my chicken was already there but did not expect you to go therešŸ¤£šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£šŸ˜…šŸ¤£šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£

  7. Why would you not look at the ingredient list for the packets? They seem pretty tame to me.

  8. That was not Swamp Rice …. Sorry…… That was thrown together really fast and when u have a long day it's nice to have supper done when u get home…. Some good cornbread or garlic bread would b good with it for sure …

  9. I've honestly never understood the bean snobs. They are delicious and filling, save money in bulk, and satisfy the belly. I love boiling chickpeas in tomato bouillon with indian spices. I may be a white girl, but I respect and enjoy many cultures.

  10. Ppl please don’t use those clamps on the lid of the crock pot while cooking! They r meant to be used while transporting the pot to prevent the lid from coming off. The pressure that is built when the clamps r used during cooking can cause the crockpot to explode

  11. So thankful to Chef John for being in the game as long as he has and always staying true to himself: consistently providing a wide-variety of accessible and delicious recipes in a concise manner with a dollop of humor and positive energy.
So many YouTube chefs have decided to focus on content about themselves rather than food…Chef John remains a beacon of content purity and guiding light to honest folk just looking for a recipe. Thank you šŸ™šŸ»

  12. Wow…the South Park reference. I wonder what percentage of your viewers got that. I'm probably of your age. Go boy.

  13. I must object to the comment about making sausage. Having worked for a pork processor, I believe that people would be impressed with our operation. It's clean &safe. I spent a lot of time working in the fresh sausage department. There is nothing untoward in sausage making. It's all natural ingredients. I also ran the scrapple cook room for a couple of years, so I don't want to hear it.

    Otherwise I like the recipe.

  14. Excited for a recipe drop, disappointing that it uses ingredients you can only get in the states.

  15. I'll never make chicken chili thr regular way again! So delicious. I adapted to instant pot by adding half cup of chicken broth and pressure cooking for 20 minutes with 10 minutes natural release.

  16. This looks delicious. Today, the high temperature where I live is 98 degrees. I'll save this one to try in a few months.
