The recipe I use has a stick of butter for every pound of shrimp. You need Lipitor after eating.
looks delicious…. que rico papi chulo
I'm drooling🤤.
This was outstanding! The reduced shrimp stock is the key to this excellent recipe! Thank you!
always save your shrimp shells so you can make a nice shrimp stock and then use that to make soup base or reduce for use in sauces! Yummo!!!
Edit: DOH! I wrote too soon…
Oh.My.Goodness. This looks absolutely incredible, and basically foolproof. I gotta keep my eyes open for 'Colossal'.
You’re hilarious 😂
Sounds delicious!
Lost me at old bay and new Orleans
This idiot aint no chef and this is not how it's done in New Orleans…. overcooks shrimp THEN decides to reduce sauce what a rookie
This is perfect over polenta. ….
I'm making this either today or tomorrow. I haven't decided yet.
I LOVE your videos. Really. A LOT.
But I'll point out that if you are caught using Old Bay In south Louisiana, you will receive an enthusiastic invitation to locate the nearest state line and step on over it… 😉
I'm not so sure about all that black pepper on the high heat of the Pan. Won't that create bitterness??
No New Bay!😆🤣
I prefer mashed potatoes over rice because I am the Pimp! of my barbecue shrimp!😆🤣
Easy-peel shrimp? Lmao such an American thing. Some poor fisherman probably got sued by an American choking on a shrimp peel. What an imbecile country lol
but what happened to the barbecue ????????????????????
1st Thought, "How much Cayenne Pepper is he going to put in this dish?" !!!
Chef John watching you had improved my cooking unbelievably 😊 you are the best!!!!
This might rival Momma Mosca's!
Tried this with gochujang instead of hot sauce… and waohhh yeahh what a combo it is.
I think they call it Old Bay because the stuff has been around for probably since the times of Lincoln or maybe even earlier. Please no "New bay"!🤣🤣
I wonder if all that black pepper on the shrimp would Scorch in a screaming hot pan and become bitter.Hmmm.😵🤔
Yeah I made this today and it was probably the best shrimp I’ve ever tasted in my life. Holy shit. I also got a little carried away with the old bay. Gave it an even better flavor
Oh my goodness, toss some muscles and clams into that shrimp stock while it is reducing……it won't be BBQ Shrimp anymore but it will be awesome!
Or Or Or cook up a nice big pot of GRITS… No instant GRITS allowed! Extra butter is allowed.Slow and easy. No lumps. Makes a happy day!
Chef John is such a g
This goes with Grits too 👩🔧🇺🇲🛠️🇷🇺
8 yrs late YUMMY
while this looks delicious, nobody in New Orleans would recognize it as barbeque shrimp.
From New Orleans. Never seen it look like this when served
Making this one again tonight as a belated Valentine's Day (or, as her family calls it "Happy Hearts Day") celebration. ^_^
shrimp has been placed in manderen too
"14x more butter" lol
The colossal joke here 😂 absolutely savage
1:29. "Sprinkle a little bit of Old Bay and please, do not substitute with a young bay…"
[snickers]
What a great dish, Chef! You are an American Internet Institution.
Your commentary is trash.
Why dont people remove the black line on the stomach?
Fantastic! But please, please, shake the damn pan!
what NO BREAD TO DIP ??????
Didn't work for me. After adding the butter to the raging-hot pan, there will be much smoke.
Yummo
Why not a slurry or beurre manié to thicken the sauce? Keeps the volume better than reducing.
I’m making this tonight 4/16/24 and a pound of 15ct shrimp is $18! That’s $1.20 per shrimp. Thanks Joe Biden this is insane!
I've seen it & it doesn't even have bbq sauce in it , but it is delicious I don't use rosemary , I use flat leaf italian parsley
Love this recipe. I deglaze the shell pan with fino sherry before adding the stock. 🤌🏼
You forgot to say,,,,, overcooked shrimp AKA all seafood turns to rubber bands when over cooked.
