  1. Chili and saltines, the best!!

Toasting the masa gives a lovely depth of flavor, and creating a big batch of the Texas style chili purĆ©e gives you a lot more flexibility. Portioned and frozen it’s really easy to make a quick batch of chili.
My favorite is probably Texas style, the peppers give such good flavor, but I am not a purist about it. My next batch will be a ground beef version with plenty of veggies because it is such a great way to make a lot of good food for less money. Love mixing in a lot of cheeses for a good dip with corn chips.

  2. Lots of kids come, side of basmati rice or maybe some mashed potatoes
    Learn something again. Thank you

  3. I find easier (and less messy) to remove the seeds and membranes of dried chiles before toasting and soaking.

  4. I plan to try all of these!! My Dad taught me his TX chili recipe. He added mushrooms and it was delicious! I always look forward to your videos… not just for the recipes but also your wit, stories, helpful hints and enjoyment of a cocktail/beverage. Like hanging out with a friend. You ROCK!!

  5. good move adding more beans to Mahomes chili. Not a fan of ground turkey nor sweet potatoes but this looks nice!

  6. Is anyone else loving those beautiful enamel coated cast-iron Dutch ovens? ā¤ā¤ā¤ awesome recipes per usual. Great video. Thanks again.!!!😊

  7. Missy been long not in my neighborhood bar but best of best chili šŸŒ¶ļø I had eaten there…

  8. Only one chili that she made really appeal to me. That was The boilermaker chili. I just got done making it. Freeking amazing! It is literally one of the best Chili's I've ever had. Bravo to a great recipe. And for the record. I never measure anything. Except when I make bread.
I forgot to mention. The beer I used was a citrus pils from upper falls brewing. It was all I had on hand. I was kind of apprehensive. But man it worked.

  9. Some time ago, I watched your video about putting cucumbers, pepers, carrot sticks in pots. But you never use them. And I didn't see you boil them at the end. So… It's not canning?? I'm a lost dad here raising 4 on my own. What am I supposed to do with those canes in the fridge? The girls and I have harvested all out of the greenhouse. Should we can the vegetables unsliced in cans and boil the pots with lids for 15 minutes? And after filling again? Or can we slice and flavour them up with a garlic glove or a slice of peppers and some vinegar and keep the jars cool. Fridge or basement???

  10. I made the boilermaker chili yesterday. That garbage is NOT chili in any sense of the word. Tips to anyone wanting to switch things up in the chili game – 1) NEVER use any Italian sausage in any chili recipe 2) You need to use WAY more seasonings.

    Nasty.

  11. MSG goodness?? You just crushed me, Nicole. It is a neurotoxin and a migraine trigger for many. šŸ¤•šŸ¤¢šŸ˜Ŗ

  12. Anyone have any good ideas for sides with chili? šŸŒ¶ļø drawing a blank here lol need your help! Ty!
