I discovered that I have a major root knot nematode issue this year. Several of my peppers are at least three years old. I'm disturbed that I need to pull them up and then figure out how to deal with the infestation.

Those peppers are beautiful. Could I suggest taking your surplus to your local food bank? The world has never been short of hungry folks, unfortunately, but you can be a real blessing to them. Great video, I'll definitely try that recipe.
Plant basil in with your peppers, they are a companion plant. I could not grow a pepper and so I tried that. I got store quality peppers and basil the size of bushel baskets. 🌸

1 TBSP epsom salts
1 tsp active dry yeast
1 Gal warm water
1 TBSP (ref 4:41 for sugar options to feed the yeast)
2 TBSP ( ref 5:06 for fertilizer options)
Calcium as preventative for blossom end rot (ref 5:43 for calcium options)
ref 6:19 for the mixing instructions

Take them to the Mexican restaurant you visit. That's what I do with my extras, and they're always happy to take them. I didn't know you could compost them. That's one thing I was told to not put into compost, nothing hot, and also no citrus.😢

So many things effect your peppers including the variety you plant, soil health, water, but can’t hurt to give it a shot.
