Namkeen Daal Mash Recipe (English)
Ingredients:

1 cup split white gram lentils (daal mash)

1 medium onion (finely chopped)

2 medium tomatoes (chopped)

2–3 green chilies (chopped)

1 tbsp ginger garlic paste

1/2 cup oil or ghee

1 tsp salt (adjust to taste)

1 tsp red chili powder

1/2 tsp turmeric powder

1 tsp cumin seeds (zeera)

1 tsp black pepper (crushed)

Fresh coriander leaves (for garnish)

Lemon slices (for serving)

Method:

Wash and soak daal mash for 30 minutes, then boil until soft but not mushy.

Heat oil/ghee in a pan, add cumin seeds and let them splutter.

Add chopped onions and fry until golden brown.

Mix in ginger garlic paste, then add tomatoes, red chili powder, turmeric, and salt. Cook until the masala releases oil.

Add the boiled daal mash and stir gently so the grains remain whole.

Cook for 5–7 minutes on low flame, add crushed black pepper and green chilies.

Garnish with fresh coriander and lemon slices.

Serve hot with naan or roti.

🍲 Namkeen Daal Mash Recipe (Roman Urdu)
Samagri:

1 cup daal mash (chhilkay wali safed maash ki daal)

1 medium pyaz (bareek kata hua)

2 medium tamatar (kata hua)

2–3 hari mirch (kata hua)

1 chamach adrak lehsan paste

1/2 cup tel ya ghee

1 chamach namak (apni pasand ke mutabiq)

1 chamach lal mirch powder

1/2 chamach haldi powder

1 chamach zeera

1 chamach kali mirch (kooti hui)

Hara dhaniya (sajawat ke liye)

Nimbu ke slice (serve karne ke liye)

Tareeqa:

Daal mash ko dhokar 30 minute bhigo dein, phir boil karen jab tak narm ho jaye magar ghul na jaye.

Pan mein tel ya ghee garam karke usme zeera daal kar chhonk lein.

Kata hua pyaz daal kar golden brown hone tak bhunein.

Ab adrak lehsan paste, tamatar, lal mirch, haldi aur namak daal kar masala tayar karein jab tak oil alag na ho jaye.

Ab ubli hui daal mash daal kar halka sa mix karein taake daal ke dane tootay na.

5–7 minute dhimi aanch par pakaayein, phir kali mirch aur hari mirch daal dein.

Hara dhaniya aur nimbu ke slice se garnish karein.

Garma garam naan ya roti ke sath serve karein
