This is my 1st time starting from seed and if anyone can give me advice that’d be great. I added the burpee kit to the greenhouse at my work and this is how it looks after two days. The kit was just add water to pods and add seeds. Should I add anything? I had a couple pods then just couldn’t expand so I moved the “dirt” to areas that looked kind of low. Thanks

Closeup it looks like some might be too wet. I like to use the bulk seed starting mix so I can mix in a tub and make sure it is all evenly wet before going into the trays. You want well moistened but not sopping wet. Do you have a plastic dome over them also? That will help keep the humidity high and keep moisture in. I spritz the tray and inside of the dome every day until most sprouts come up and then remove the dome. A heatmat at about 80-85 degrees will also help quite a bit. Good luck!
I usually keep a cover over while I am waiting for sprouts to keep in moisture
I cut the tray into 3×3 sections so I can move them around or take them out for planting without having to do the whole tray at once.
I no longer use the little nuggets that come with that tray. I mix last year’s leftover potting soil with coconut coir and use that. Those little nuggets have disappointed me before.
Man, I feel like that’s going to be a pain in the ass getting the cells out of The Middle into a bigger container. I had a seedling cell container kind of like this, and I ended up cutting it into pieces so that all the cells in the middle didn’t fall apart.
Try to stay away from those burpee pods. I usually use fox farm happy soil but I recently started making my own mix with 50 percent worm castings, 40 percent coco coir and 10 vermiculite or perlite. Or you can half the perlite and vermiculite.
