Kofta Sandwich with Melted Cheese #foodandmemories #food



Ingredients (for ~4 sandwiches) ๐Ÿฅ™๐Ÿ”ฅ
500g finely minced meat for kofta (mixed with: onion ๐Ÿง…, parsley ๐ŸŒฟ, green pepper ๐Ÿซ‘, kebab spices ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ)
Pita bread ๐Ÿซ“ (enough for 4 sandwiches)
1 small onion, sliced into rings ๐Ÿง…
1-2 tomatoes, sliced into rounds ๐Ÿ…
Small green pepper, sliced into rings ๐Ÿซ‘
Grated cheese (optional) ๐Ÿง€
Olive oil + vegetable ghee ๐Ÿซ’๐Ÿงˆ (for brushing before grilling)

Prepare the Kofta Filling:
The minced meat is already mixed with onion, parsley, green pepper, and kebab spices.
Shape the kofta into discs if placing directly in the pita bread.
Prepare the Pita Bread:
Carefully open the pita bread to form a pocket ๐Ÿซ“.
Fill each pita with a portion of the kofta mixture.
Brush with Oil & Ghee:
Mix olive oil and vegetable ghee 1:1 ๐Ÿซ’๐Ÿงˆ.
Brush the kofta and outside of the pita with this mixture for a golden, crispy finish.
Grill on Charcoal:
Heat the charcoal until it becomes glowing embers ๐Ÿ”ฅ.
Place the pita sandwiches on the grill.
Press lightly with a spatula to brown the pita and cook the kofta evenly.
Grill each side for ~5-7 minutes until golden brown and fully cooked.
Add Fresh Veggies:
After grilling, open the pita and add onion rings ๐Ÿง…, tomato slices ๐Ÿ…, and green pepper rings ๐Ÿซ‘.
Optional: sprinkle grated cheese ๐Ÿง€ before adding veggies for slight melting.
Serve & Enjoy:
Serve hot ๐Ÿฅ™ with fries ๐ŸŸ or a fresh salad ๐Ÿฅ—.
Add pickles ๐Ÿฅ’ or chili ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ on the side for extra flavor.
