My El Yucateco Tier List


  1. XXXtra hot habanero reigns supreme. It is quite spicy but not unmanageable, and has amazing flavor. The best out of the bunch.

  2. Grilled pineapple & habanero is my next favorite. The least spicy out of everything, but has very good flavor and you can really taste the pineapple.

  3. Black label reserve has a good kick and smokiness. A better and bolder flavor than green & red habanero.

4 & 5. Green & red habanero are great all rounders. Good spice, but they don’t taste that different to me and they could go with anything.

6 & 7. Marisquera black & red. I didn’t realize they are meant to go on seafood, but they still tasted fine and weren’t really spicy to me.

  1. Chiltepin habanero had a sharper flavor to it. Decent spice, and wasn’t crazy about it but I will definitely try it again.

  2. Ghost pepper habanero didn’t have good flavor and just tasted like ghost pepper extract. Oddly it wasn’t as spicy as the xxxtra hot habanero even though it’s supposed to be the spiciest.

  3. Caribbean habanero tasted quite sharp and was spicy, (not to the level of the xxxtra hot habanero) but I just wasn’t a fan of the flavor profile. I think they tried to get a jerk flavor in there but it just wasn’t working.

11, 12, 13. I am curious to try coffee habanero but don’t know if I want to commit to a whole bottle of it. I’ll probably skip the jalapeno and chipotle since they aren’t supposed to be very spicy.

    I’d bump Caribbean up to S and pineapple down to C (just too sweet for me) but otherwise agree

    I’ve found quite a few people can’t stand the taste of the xxxtra hot one. I didn’t mind it but it’s not my favorite. I would say green is my number one

    The black label is S-tier for me because I make a lot of jambalaya. The smoky heat goes super well with anything cajun.

    Back Label Reserve is F tier for me. I’d put Chiltepin and Caribbean on A tier. The XXX is the best though.
