Cozy Chili + Cornbread Vibes 🍲🌽

COZY BEEF CHILI
📌 INGREDIENTS

Base
• 1 tbsp olive oil
• 1 to 1¼ lb ground beef
• 1 medium onion, diced
• 7 cloves garlic, minced

Spices (DOUBLED)
• 4 tbsp chili powder
• 3 tsp cumin
• 2 tsp smoked paprika (or regular)
• 1 to 1½ tsp chili flakes (to taste)
• Salt and black pepper
• 1 packet sazón

Liquids + Body
• 1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes
• 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
• 1 to 1½ cups beef broth
• ¼ cup strong brewed coffee (optional but recommended)

Beans
• 2 cans beans (kidney, black, pinto, or mix), drained and rinsed

Depth + Balance
• 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
• 1 tbsp soy sauce
• 1 tsp honey

Finish
• 1 to 2 tsp apple cider vinegar or lime juice (to taste)

DIRECTIONS
1. Heat olive oil in a heavy pot over medium heat.
Add onion with a pinch of salt and cook until soft and lightly golden.
2. Add garlic and cook about 30 seconds, just until fragrant.
3. Add ground beef. Break it up and cook until deeply browned.
Don’t rush this. Color equals flavor.
4. Season with salt and pepper.
Add chili powder, cumin, paprika, chili flakes, and sazón directly to the meat.
Stir and cook 30 to 60 seconds until the spices bloom and smell rich.
5. Stir in crushed tomatoes and tomato sauce.
Add beef broth and coffee if using. Bring to a gentle simmer.
6. Add Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and honey. Stir well.
7. Add beans. Simmer uncovered for 30 to 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Longer is better if you have time.
8. Right before serving, add apple cider vinegar or lime juice.
Start small, taste, and adjust.

DEEP, WARM, NOT SWEET)
This is a balanced, cozy chili built for depth, warmth, and comfort.
Savory, rich, and slow-simmered flavor without being heavy or sweet.

It tastes like it’s been simmering all day, even if it hasn’t.

Optional toppings for serving:
Sour cream or Greek yogurt, shredded cheese, green onion, and cornbread for dunking.
🐾 Choco’s black beans + beef no seasoning
