🐖 Smoked Pork Butt Cook – Step by Step

1. Scored the fat cap on top of the pork butts
2. Injected the pork butts with Dr Pepper
3. Seasoned generously with Heath Riles Competition BBQ Rub
4. Placed the pork butts on the smoker at 225°F for 6 hours
5. After 5 hours, increased smoker temperature to 250°F for 2 hours
6. Removed pork once it reached 170°F internal temperature
7. Placed pork into an aluminum pan with Dr Pepper, honey, brown sugar, and butter, covered tightly, and returned to the smoker at 275°F for about 2 more hours until the internal temperature reached 203–207°F

🍗 Chicken Wings & Final Prep

1. While the pork was cooking, prepped 150 chicken wings, separating the drums and flats
2. Once the pork finished cooking, allowed it to cool to around 175°F, then held overnight in the oven at 170°F
3. The next morning, transferred the pork butts into a cooler and transported them to work
4. At work, prepped and grilled all of the chicken wings
5. Once everything was finished, we served it all up and fed the crowd

This is a proven method for smoking pork butts ahead of time, holding them safely, and serving them hot and juicy the next day. Perfect for BBQ events, catering jobs, or family gatherings.

  1. That BBQ looks like straight up 🔥 If I ran your company I’d pay you Double time to do this once a month for my company. Looks awesome 👏 Thanks for doing these.

  2. Idk what this travesty is but that’s definitely not how you cook a pork butt. That shit has to be so fucking sweet you can’t eat it. Epic fail on this one my guy 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

  3. Did I miss something???? He didn’t even show us the final results of the pork butt!!! WTF kind of video this is?????

  4. next time use a long spatula and you can load five or six on it and slide them off on the grates..instead of one at a time… what happened to the pork?

  5. That how i finish off my pork . the pan is so much more easier to work with plus you get to keep all those juices .

  6. My Only tip would be that if you're making multiple batches of raw food like chicken wings is that you should definitely have a second pair of small tongs. I keep a larger pair to handle flipping the raw meat and I keep the clean pair for removing the cooked wings into a tray.
