Molcajete Madness

I just grabbed my molcajete and found it looking like this. I’m guessing it’s some sort of fungus.

IIRC Last use was a month or so ago when grinding spices for butter chicken.

I was thinking I’d scrub it with a brush, give it a vinegar soak, rinse well and grind some rice, then spices.
