I've just planted the seeds for the peppers I'll be growing this year. I have some plants producing chillies right now in the shelf above this, grown fully indoors, but I'd like these seedlings to be as strong as possible since we're going to plant a fair amount of them in the garden this year.
I've been doing a lot of reading and seen a fair amount of people using small fans on their plants, but haven't managed to find a guide on why and how to use one. I'd love any info you have, links, etc.
Mostly I'm wondering how necessary they are, where I'd ideally position it on my metal shelf, and if it needs to be constantly on or for a specific amount of time per day.
Thank you! I know it's early since they haven't germinated yet, but I wanna have everything ready when they start growing.

I use a fan, it acts like a wind would by moving the plant gently. This encourages the plant to strengthen its stems like it would if growing outdoors, which in turn helps the plant hold the weight of the fruit better and be more resilient to movement.
