Fast Crispy Chicken Strips. Recipe ↓
■ INGREDIENTS:
• chicken breast – 2.2 lb (1 kg), sliced into strips
• all-purpose flour – 1⅔ cups (200 g)
• eggs – 2 large
• water – ¾ cup (180 ml)
• salt – 2 tsp
• paprika – 2 tsp
• black pepper – 1 tsp
• garlic powder – 1 tsp (optional, but recommended)
• neutral oil (canola / sunflower / vegetable) – for frying
■ HOW TO COOK:
1. Cut chicken breasts into even strips. Pat dry with paper towels.
2. In a bowl, whisk eggs + water. Add salt, paprika, black pepper, and garlic powder.
3. Gradually whisk in flour until you get a thick but pourable batter (should coat the chicken without dripping too fast).
4. Drop chicken strips into the batter and mix well so every piece is fully coated (optionally roll strips lightly in flour or cornstarch after).
5. Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C). Oil should be enough to cover at least half the strips.
6. Fry in batches for 4-5 minutes, turning once, until deep golden and crispy. Don’t overcrowd the pan.
7. Transfer to a rack or paper towels. Lightly salt while hot.
Optional:
– Extra crunch: after batter → roll strips lightly in flour or cornstarch
– Spicy version: add cayenne or chili powder to batter
– Air fryer: spray well with oil, cook at 400°F (200°C) for 12-14 min, flip once
Quick dipping sauce (mix):
• mayo – ½ cup
• ketchup – 2 tbsp
• honey – 1 tbsp
• mustard or hot sauce – to taste
