A unrelated tip if you want to have cheese pull on your grilled cheese sandwich using packaged ground cheese rinse the cheese ON COLD WATER to take out the starch that keeps it from lumping together and pad it dry
No the cheese will not loose flavor, no the cheese will not melt while washing it, yes you can wash it all cheese need to be washed to take out as much of the curling liquid as possible as possible.
