Ever wondered why the chat masala added by the chaat masala is so different and dark in colour?The secret lies in roasting of the spices and the addition of a few spices like the long pepper and dried mint leaves too.
Make this in advance and keep it for the perfect addition to your holi chaat and snacks!

Kala Chat masala
Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 15 minutes

Ingredients:
1/2 Cup Cumin Seeds
1/6 cup Coriander Seeds
1/4 Cup Dry Mango Powder
1/8 Cup/Black Salt
1/2 Tsp Citric Acid Crystal
1/8 Cup Black pepper
4 Whole Red chilli
1 Tsp Carom Seeds
1/8 Cup Regular Salt
2 Long Pepper
1/4 Cup Mint Leaves, packed

Method:
Dry roast the mint leaves till black and crisp. dry roast cumin seeds, coriander seeds, red chilies, till dark brown and fragrant. Grind together all the ingredients to make a fine powder.
