  1. Who ain't ever had ranch style beans? These are a staple in the pantry. Cook em up with some bacon and cornbread. Top tier supper. But I'm positive your homemade ranch styles are far better, Kent. I'm just usually too busy or lazy for a fresh pot of beans. But I'm for sure using this recipe over the weekend. I can wait to try em. Thanks Kent.

  2. Those were the only beans out of a can my Dad would eat. I'm very fond of them myself and I love to add them to chili and some jalapeno cornbread and a ice cold beer and get out of my way son.

  3. the last store I was in( in OK) they were on the bottom shelf in the corner. Almost didn't see them..( and I'm short). I like them by themselves with cornbread.

  4. Thanks Kent. I love those ranch style beans. Thank you for sharing this recipe. Now I gotta make some then BBQ something up to go with. Decisions decisions. Ha! They are tasty beans and you simplified the oh so tasty recipe. God Bless you n Shannon!

  5. I did this in a pinch once (long before ever seeing this), but instead of ketchup I used BBQ sauce & a south Texas twist of just adding a pinch of fresh chopped cilantro. I fed it to a crew of good ol' south Texas boys who wents nuts… They LOVED them! They seriously thought I'd slaved over a stove cooking those beans from scratch!

  6. I always hated beans as a kid but now as adult ,best beans i ever had ! I try them the first time a few months back .

  7. Kent I have a recipe to can ranch style beans using dried pinto beans. It is easy & tastes just like the real thing. It is good to have some in hand when you need it.

  8. Never heard of that brand but I do love making my own cause they are hard to mess up unless you cook the methane out of them and then they just are not fun.

  9. My dad used to buy it by the case -the whole flat card board box of them when we were kids. Sometimes it was served with ground beef and rice on the side, Sometimes it had cut up hotdogs with a side of spinach….canned. 😂I didn't know spinach came any other way until college.

  10. As I recall, ranch style beans also include included tripe in their mix. That was part of the taste. It was just fantastic.
