Happy first day of spring everyone! This is an update on my pepper topping experiment. My goal is to see what pepper plant grows the best. It's my first time growing peppers and I've seen mixed opinions and decided to see my own results.
I started these papers around January inside. The ones I didn't top are purposely left like that because they are going to be bell peppers and I was told not to top off peppers with large fruits. The other two are just from a Hot Mix seed pack, so it could be a few things.
From what I'm seeing so far the bell peppers are staying quite short and working on making its leaves bigger.
The ones I've topped have grown much faster with more leaves and some side branches. It looks very good so far for topping off your peppers.
Other factors to consider would be the type of growth rate from different varieties of peppers. Does anyone know if bell peppers just grow at a slower rate ?
Let me know your thoughts and past experiences with topping off your peppers. Or any questions about my growing process. Happy Spring 🌱
