Update: My Peppers

folks,

I was the gal that struggled with peppers. I wanted to share my update based on the issues I had. I think I'm on the right track thanks the pepper community!

I took your advices and they were dang helpful!

  1. Shrimps

Some of my peppers were a little shirmpy. They have started to get a little taller and I can see the stem thickening up.

Fed them some fertilizer and they started to grow a little.

A couple of the Trinidad Perfume Peppers are still shirmpy but they are showing some 🤏 signs of growth. I am seeing more root growth.

Only one appears to lack some nitrogen and I spritzed some diluted fertilizer on the leaves to help it out. It seemed to helped. The new leaf growth is green. This fella is my newborn pepper (others been around since end of February).

  1. Growing Cell

So you right about transferring them to a smaller growing cell. I took the peppers I had in the black cell (don't remember the size), and moved them to the smaller seed starting tray and they seemed to perk right up after a couple of weeks!

I'm seeing more growth than I did when I had them in the larger cell.

  1. Foooood

I guess my soil I had them originally (potting mix) was terrible. Then I cooked up my own based on what others have done and it wasn't enough and these poor guys were hungry.

I was told my Biofish wasn't enough to get them food faster. So I got Schultz 10-15-10 and gave them diluted amounts to bottom water.

Now I just got some Neptune Harvest Tomato & Veg, Fish and Seedweed (it was sold as a combo) and I'll give it to them for now. Then I read that I need to switch out to Rose & Flowering to aid fruit growth.

I got these from across the border because we can't really access where I'm at unless I order from the east Coast. I was told I can't bring fertilizer across anymore (even though we sell them in select stores) because it doesn't have a 🇨🇦 stamp. The guy let this one slide tho.

  1. Rooties

A few of my peppers looked to struggle because the roots were kind of missing. Only a couple actually pulled through. I stuck them in and I can't remember exactly which ones it was. But none in my seed starting tray died.

there was one that was left without a light for a while and thecotyledon leaves turned yellow. I left for a week and prior I sprayed with diluted liquid fertilizer to jolt them with nitrogen.

  1. Current Situation

My uncle looked after my plants for a week and even after some specific instructions, the ones in the starting tray appears to be water logged as he left water in the bottom of the tray. I need to give them some food since it's been a week. I'm going to see what I can do as I got both peppers and tomatoes in the same tray and tomatoes are newest ones. They look a little dramatic right now.
