This looks like if Taco Bell were a nice sit down restaurant. It looks delicious but I wouldn’t say it looks authentically Mexican. I live right above the Mexican border and the burritos here are a bit more simple. Think meat in sauce plus refried beans. Again, don’t be discouraged your burrito looks delicious.

No, I am from northern Mexico where burritos are consumed daily and that does not look like it. Google Juarez or Chihuahua burrito, they are way more simple and not fold at the ends. That is the way they have been made for over a century. Most Mexicans have never seen or consumed and authentic northern burrito. Wheat tortillas are only consumed in northern Mexico

As an American gringo that loves Mexican food, there are so many regional quirks it really comes down to how someone’s Abuela made it. To get it closer to a northern-style burrito, use pinto beans instead of black beans (Black beans are more common in the central and Yucatán regional dishes).

Definitely looks closer to a north of the border creation. I would never assume this was made by an actual Mexican, especially in Mexico anywhere.

Plan a trip and experience it for yourself. I can tell you that even closer to Mexico it’s hard to get right. I’ve spent a lot of time in Florida, and there is a lot of “Mexican” restaurants that make food that looks right, but then the flavors are more Caribbean island than Mexican or Tex-Mex.

If it’s a flower tortilla it qualifies as a burrito. The truth is that there are so many different ways to make a burrito. At the very least you can’t say it’s not a burrito . I would say that if it tastes good more than likely it is a burrito.
